Happened upon here because it was the only place open on a Monday night in downtown New London. Truthfully, given it's size and appearance, I didn't expect much. However, what came out from the kitchen shattered my haughty suppositions. I wanted some light fare so I ordered the clam chowder and a side of goat-cheese polenta.
Our wait staff, Lisa and Nicole (I think) were super friendly and helpful. Can't wait to come back and bring some more friends, maybe check out the outdoor seating next time ;)

We live on the Ocean Beach side of New London. Finally got a chance to go to Fatboy's. We ordered oysters, the double smash burger and mac and cheese. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted sooo good.
This chowder was PHENOMENAL. Between the sheer density of clam niblets and pile of hearty pork lardons in the center, I was in heaven. This chowder is hands-down my favorite. The execution of this clam chowder deserves an award, and in fact, there is one hanging behind the bar. You will have to go to Fatboy's to see what it is though
Wow! Great way to end our Girls weekend away. A true gem on the New London Waterfront. We highly recommend! Great staff .... very attentive. We had the Short Rib Grill Cheese...... Melt in your mouth. Chicken and waffles- served with a melted honey butter and syrup on the side of a serious piece of fried chicken and waffle. Bacon Egg and Cheese (not what you think - think deconstruted deliciousness to the nth degree) and lastly a double burger with a side of Blue Cheese Au Gratin with some sort of reduction that we can't put our finger on....although we did dip everything in it.) I almost forgot the Chorizio Cornbread Hash..... not to be missed!

The food is usually pretty good, on the multiple times of been there the service has been all over the map. One server had impeccable timing and never left us wanting for anything, the next it took 30 minutes to get water and have our order taken... I wouldn't make this my first choice downtown.
