Dr. Van Stolk is a very caring doctor who takes the time to spend with her patients that they need. I have never felt rushed at my appointments and she is listens to my issues and concerns.
Most bizarre office visit I have ever had. Saw Dr. Van Stock in her New Britain office after approximately one year earlier with complaints of acid reflux. She put me on a 30-day regime of acid reducer, after the 30 days and a week the reflux was back, so I suffered for a year before I returned. She immediately scolded me for not changing my "lifestyle", even though she didn't ask me if I had changed my lifestyle (not sure where that came from?). I have in fact been working with a nutritionist - don't drink or smoke eat 4 Oz of chocolate approximately once a week. It was apparent that this visit for which I had to take a vacation day from work (in the middle of the day) was only going to last 10 minutes. Once I told her I was having difficulty swallowing she swooped in and wanted to order an endoscopy right away (protocol for such difficulties), however she did not bother to tell me she was moving to Mystic. Once I caught on that she was leaving the area and that her primary concern regarding me was to bill my insurance for what I suspect is an outrageously priced procedure and not be around for followup, I refused the endoscopy.
